Uptown
I am writing to share severe mis-givings about this Woodie's location. They upcharged, attempted to upsell, and in my case did a poor job on the actual work-- an oil change... leaving an oil smell, exploding oil all over my engine bay and resulting in my husband having to clean it. I have been a customer of Woodie's in Charlotte for over a decade, using multiple locations for several vehicles I have had. On Dec 6, 2024, I took my 4-door sedan with roughly ~45K miles on it for an oil change at Woodie's in Uptown. It was easy to schedule and my husband dropped it off. They were done in couple of hours and called to tell me they found some "critical items" to the tune of $1546. It started with: replace wiper blades. They did send an itemized estimate when I requested it. Upon review, I declined. When my husband went to pick up the car he was shocked that we were charged $103 for an oil change (no tire rotation included). From that point on, I smelled oil each time I drove the car the next few days. Puzzled, my husband opened the hood to find the quarter-turn oil cap off, which sprayed oil all over the engine bay. I then received an email from Woodie's requesting a 5-star review. To which I replied with pictures of the mess and asked how Woodie's intended to resolve the issue. That was Dec 11. As of this writing, December 17, I have received no response from Woodie's. I am very disappointed with this experience, car-service and customer-service. (2-stars for convenience of location) Update: Jan 3 2025-- On the afternoon of Dec 31, this location called me. After phone tag, I ultimately spoke with Stuart today, who said they could not fix the oil on the sound-deafening carpet and probably gave some sort of apology. He then offered me $50 off of my next service over $100. TBD on if I will trust this location to "get my offer." I still have a botched oil change. Whole experience was bizarre and disheartening for Woodie's.
