Summerville
We took our van in on a Monday at 9 am. It was shaking and we heard a knock when turning the steering wheel. They did a 28 point inspection and took pictures of some of the things, but not every component. We serviced the tie rod, 1 rear passenger wheel bearing, rear leaking shocks and two new rear tires. We didn’t get the car back until 7pm Thurs and we’re leaving to go out of town Friday. On Thursday, when I went to pick up the vehicle; it still had a shake while accelerating to 45, but the knocking when turning the steering wheel was gone. They also replaced the wheel covers because we didn’t have one, and they broke one when they had the van. They gave us the wheel covers for free but 3 of the tires were leaking air because the covers were put in incorrectly. It was leaking very fast; to the point that we had to add air before our trip. Billy apologized, but it was a 19 year old kid who hasn’t ever put wheel covers on before. Before leaving we, my husband and I, acknowledged the car was STILL shaking, but didn’t get the car back until close and left for a trip the next morning. The mechanics also left an important device in the car and when I brought it into billy he said oh sorry my guys must have been in a rush. I wish I listened then. I called Woodies the Monday we got back and was told by Riley that Billy was not in office and wouldn’t be. I could call back tomorrow. When my husband asked about the services Riley accused us of trying to get a free service out of them. After spending 2600+ this was not us looking for something for free. We just wanted the issue fixed. I called back to ask a question about the van when to my surprise Billy answered. Riley was caught in a lie and Billy apologized in his behalf. When we got there the mechanic Brandon got in my car to feel the vibration. Unknown to me, another mechanic was recording the test drive and said it was a bent wheel. I trusted their word, but never saw the video they supposedly took. We paid an additional $100 for the new wheel and guess what…. The car still shakes. I asked for the video from Billy and he said he would see if his guys still had it. They said they went on a LONG test drive but the papers only show a 4 mile difference in the odometer reading. In order to fix everything Billy told me that I need; 2 new front tires, 2 new cv axels, front wheel bearings and 1 rear wheel bearing. I’m sorry, but whattttt. I truly believe that I was scammed by the men at Woodies. Assured the car was safe to drive. When I told Billy the cv axles we’re just replace and I asked if the mechanics saw an obvious issues he told me, everything looks fine; this is based off of how the vehicle feels so that showed me RIGHT there this was all just a guess. When I told him the cv axels were just done he seemed shocked; and then went on to say they should last longer if they were done when you said they were. But again, they never even looked to see. It was a guess based on their experience. If riley lied about a manager being in office I can only imagine what else this shop is lying about. To my face, Billy was hospitable, but I don’t trust Woodies to work on my vehicles after this experience. I will be sending the car to another shop to ensure the work they said they did was done. 1/5 because 1 of the mechanical issues was fixed- we no longer hear a knock, but everything else was less than expected. Would not recommend. Will not be back. We went back because the car was STILL shaking after he replaced the bent wheel and all of our services are in warranty. we noticed the “new” wheel was rusty and questioned if it was even replaced. Car was held an extra day so he could get the part from dealership (family member was there when he said it)When I brought it to his attention informed me that it was not a new wheel, he got it @LKQ- used. I paid $100 for a used wheel that is rusted. He sarcastically offered to sand it down and paint it; but I declined as I believe that would jeopardize the integrity of the wheel. He did give me my old wheel back and it was bent.
