Been going to Woody’s for about a year now for routine maintenance like oil changes, etc… the first few times the service was great with no issues, then over the last 6 months or so the quality of work has declined. They have forgotten to reset my mileage after the oil change the last few times. My most recent experience will be my last, I needed 4 new tires and paid over $1,000 to have them put them on and do an alignment. After I paid I went out to my car to find no valve caps on my new tires. Just a very simple oversight that shows their lack of attention to detail. After reading other reviews it seems like this is becoming a trend. Will do my service elsewhere from now on.

Woodies Auto Worst rip off I’ve ever had. Long post but worth the read. Buyer beware of Woodies in Indian Land. This happened to us!! If you take your auto there, it will probably be one of the biggest rip offs you will ever endure. Unfortunately, I trusted them blindly and did not verify until I received an itemized statement from my wife. We had been had, big time. The initial problem was a check engine light. A local auto parts store did the free check and the 2019 Yukon produced a “misfire” code. Took the auto to Woodies in Indian Land and agreed to the diagnosis charge of 129.95. Received a call later stating that the misfire was jumping from one cylinder to the next, that all spark wires would have to be replaced as well as the spark plugs. Was told we needed a fuel injector service and that all four O2 sensors had failed and they needed to be replaced as well. The quote was 1100 dollars for the misfire problem, injector cleaning, and diagnosis. And another 900 dollars to replace the O2 sensors. I will admit I should have done my due diligence but I trusted the service manager on the phone, thinking the parts would be expensive so I authorized them to fix the misfire and to clean the injectors and I would address the O2 sensor problem later. I now know I should have taken our Yukon elsewhere or done the simple fix myself. Their labor rates are astronomical, the hours used for each tasks are basically fraud, and their parts charge markup is incredulous. Here’s the breakdown: 185 dollars to remove 8 spark plugs. Maybe 15 minutes max of work. 252 dollars to remove 8 spark plug wires. A max of 15 minutes as well, its a simple turn and pull. 80 dollars labor charge to clean the injectors. Hook up the nozzle and start the car, that’s 80 dollars? Wow. The parts charges are even more outrageous. I went to Auto zone and told them of my experience. I was told they can’t say anything derogatory but “now you know” and they don’t recommend Woodies to anybody. I now know why. The price at Auto Zone for the identical parts used on my vehicle was 56 dollars for 8 spark plugs. I was charged 212 dollars by Woodies. That’s almost a 400 percent markup. The wire set at Auto Zone was 61 dollars and I was charged 146 dollars. That’s almost a 250 percent markup. And I was charged 90 dollars for fluid to clean the injectors. That’s more per ounce than a bottle of Blantons. I went to see the service manager the next day and all he could say was that’s what the book calls for. About the 900 dollar charge they wanted to replace all four O2 sensors. I went to O’Reilly’s and spent a total of 200 dollarsfor the sensors and they loaned me a socket in case I needed it to remove the sensors(I didn’t). I crawled under the Yukon and had them changed in less than an hour. I had no tools other than a socket wrench, a socket, and a 7/8 inch wrench. The hardest part was figuring out how to unclip the wire connectors. Woodies would have gouged me both on labor and parts to the tune of 900 dollars. They claim to get their labor rates from their computer based on the task and they stick to it regardless of the time really needed to perform a task. It doesn’t take over an hour to remove 8 spark plugs on a GMC Yukon. It doesn’t take over an hour to remove 8 spark plug wires. Absolutely ridiculous. If you don’t mind throwing away money, maybe Woodies is for you. I’ve tried to be objective. Do your homework because Woodies can not be trusted to provide fair services or fair pricing for their parts. It is in no way shape or form close to being a reputable car repair facility. Go there at your own peril. You will be dealing with the Devil in disguise They smile and gain your trust quickly. Absolutely a classic case of auto repair fears. Don’t fall for it. In closing, I only live a mile from this den of thievery, on a busy thoroughfare. I am having a sign made to post in my yard along the road to warn others of the danger waiting for them only a short distance down the road. Be aware, be very aware.
