I have never left a business review in my life, but I had a terrible experience at Woodies Mint Hill. I spent over $300 to fix an oil leak in which they diagnosed where the leak was coming from. When I picked up my car, not only did I still have an oil leak, they knocked a hose out of place which caused my engine light to come on and I barely made it back to the business without breaking down in the road. They put the hose back in place and checked further into the leak. I was then told to drive the car around and bring it back so they could see where the leak was coming from. During this driving period, my check engine light came back on. After getting my car back to the shop, I was told the oil was now leaking from somewhere else and the check engine light coming on was just a coincidence and had nothing to do with their prior work. I was told I could spend another $120 for a diagnostic check to see what the issue was. At this point I told them that I would be coming to pick up my car. As I picked it up, I told the employee that I was not happy with my experience and the reasons why. I was told "I'm sorry you feel that way" and was handed the keys. I called the Manager, Brian, the next morning. He did his best to explain how nothing was their fault. He wanted to "make it right" but didn't offer anything and advised that his employees "did not work for free". I thought maybe a free diagnostic check would be reasonable to see what the "new" issue might be with the check engine light (Auto Zone will even do a free diagnostic check). At the end of the day, I paid $365 for an oil change and now have a light on which means my car will not pass inspection that is due next month. Needless to say, I will not be back. UPDATE: Went to Auto Zone and where they did a FREE diagnostic check (Saved $120). Was able to search this on the internet, order the part for $18 and replace myself (NO mechanic Experience). Also, they wanted to charge me $130 to repair the "New" oil leak. Took my car to another mechanic who charged $65 and I have no more lead. Bottom Line.......SHOP AROUND BEFORE GOING HERE. Don't let the cleanliness of the shop fool you!!
