Fort Mill at Doby's Bridge
Really not sure what’s happened in the last few visits, but service has dramatically decreased while prices have increased. We brought our certified preowned ‘18 Mazda CX-9 in for a 28 Point Vehicle Safety Inspection 2 weeks after purchase (June 18th) and it cleared all safety points in the green minus a cosmetic issue. For the breaks, the technician left the following comment: “Upon inspection of your [front\back] brakes we found your brakes are in good shape at this time.” Today (September 15th) we brought the car in for its standard oil change. To our surprise, the inspection listed “ Upon inspection we found your front brake rotors to be pitted/worn” and “Rear brakes are metal to metal. Upon your inspection we found that your rear rotors are worn/pitted.” In less time than that between oil changes, the breaks were so worn they required replacement as well as $400+ in new rotors. When I inquired if this was an issue to expect with the car and how in 3 months we could have such a drastic difference, I was informed that this is standard, things wear down overtime and “they manufacture things just at minimum requirement so they need to be replaced a lot.” All in all what we thought would just be an oil change turned into a $1,000+ bill. On top of that, when we turned the car on to leave, they hadn’t completed the repairs because the “change oil” code still showed on the dash. I used to love this shop. Dwayne ran it like a well oiled machine - pun intended. He was always polite. But it feels like prices have dramatically increased the past few visits and the service quality has dropped. I don’t doubt that my car is safe to drive after visiting, but I can say you can find similar or better service elsewhere for a better cost.
